This broad based flexible accredited course is ideal if you are a mature student wishing to progress to higher education to study specialist art and design courses. You will be helped to fully develop your creative potential, or to acquire skills for employment in the creative industries. The course consists of a core day plus a number of additional level 3 courses and can be completed over one or two years. The options are available on days or evenings throughout the week and include ceramics, jewellery, stained glass, life drawing, life studies, photography, materials exploration, 2D and 3D work, ideas development, research, and the history of art. Throughout this course you will prepare a portfolio of artwork that you will be able to use at interviews to present the skills you have acquired. Entry is based on interview and evidence of your ability, rather than on formal qualifications. It may be possible to join this course at any time.
