LITERACY AND NUMERACY

If you are a fluent English speaker and would like to improve your reading, writing and maths, help your children at school, move into employment or look for promotion or a better job we have courses that can help you achieve your ambitions. Don’t worry if you left school without qualifications our tutors will help you succeed in small friendly classes.

Interview
We want to ensure that you are enrolled on the right course for your level, so we will ask you to come along to an interview were we will agree a programme to suit your needs.
How to join
It is possible to join throughout the year:
please call 020 8600 9191 or visit your local centre to make an appointment. Please note that days and times of classes are not listed, but will be arranged during interview. Classes are available both in the day and the evening at local centres and community
venues.

Improve your reading and writing


Develop your skills and confidence in spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Look at different types of reading material including newspapers, forms, instructions, and understand how to use them.

Maths

Take the mystery and fear out of maths. Learn the basics and develop skills and confidence to understand and use everyday maths

You can take GCSE English and Maths in daytime or evening classes.

OPEN HOUSE PROJECT
If you’re thinking about returning to work this project provides an opportunity for you to brush up your jobseeking and literacy skills.
This course is for Hammersmith and Fulham residents and is free.

VOCATIONAL COURSES

If you are interested in joining a vocational course (e.g. childcare) but you are worried about your reading and writing skills, these courses will support and help you with your writing and coursework whilst you work towards professional qualifications.

Skills for Life vocational courses are free but there may a charge for exam fees. Where you see this sign £H you may be entitled to help with exam fees, please ask at interview.

Please note these courses need an interview before enrolment.
