Choosing a courseThe guide is arranged by subject area so you can look through the subjects that interest you, or if you know the course you want you can go to the index to locate the information. We offer a mixture of courses that lead to a nationally recognised qualification and non accredited courses for people who do not want a certificate. Courses leading to a certificate will usually require an interview before you enrol.Course information sheets All courses have a course information sheet that you can download from this website (in Word format) or request in printed form from any adult education centre. These give much more detailed information than the brief summary carried by the course web page and should be read carefully before starting any course. Levels Courses are offered at different levels, with entry level the easiest level, progressing to: Level 1 - Beginners Level 2 - GCSE standard Level 3 - A level standard Level 4 - first year degree standard. Some subjects, such as languages, break these levels into smaller steps with level 1.1 progressing to level 1.2, 1.3 and then 2.1 etc. For further information on levels please see the student handbook. |
